Sydney Metro Northwest opened to passengers on the 26th of May 2019, bringing state-of-the-art driverless metro trains to Australia for the first time. MCS Digital delivered the Teltronic Nebula TETRA Radio System, rail certified on-board radios, the CeCoCo Control Centre System and over 300 Sepura TETRA radios which together provide mission critical voice and data services to support the Operations and Maintenance of the Sydney Metro train line. Services run from Chatswood to Tallawong with trains every 4 minutes in each direction in the peak, with provision to increase to every 2 minutes in future as Sydney Metro expands throughout Sydney.
